Outside

Branches bend down from the snow

Streets covered in white.

Excited huskies howl in my backyard

Ready to run.

I harness the dogs

And attach the gang line

To the sled while the dogs jump in the air.

Excited huskies howl in the street

Ready to run.

And we’re off at a fast pace

Trying to hold on to the sled

While the dogs keep pulling harder and harder

With each stride.

Excited huskies happy to run.

Sparkly snow on the streets

Flakes falling on my cheeks

Snow flies in the air behind the sled

As we twist and turn through the winding trails.

Excited huskies happy to run.

At the end of the run

We sprint for home.

Panting dogs cool off in the outside breeze

Then come inside to snuggle.

Tired huskies sleep along my side.
