Most people think that the only career you can use your art talent and education for is to sell your paintings. But there are so many more options that people don’t think about, like animation, free lance, photography, and even writing. Here are some ways to make money and enjoy your art job.

The first thing is something that you could begin now. Animation, from hobbyists to professionals animators are of all ages. To begin your animation career you can start with a simple application like flip-a-clip or sketchbook and play around with layers, so that as you get older you can move into better more expensive applications like photoshop. Another good idea about your animation career is keeping a sketchbook or digital sketchbook to log your progress, to practice, and to potentially find your style. 

The next career that is recommend looking at is becoming an interior designer. Interior design is a wonderful option that you can begin preparing for now, including designing rooms and making them a reality in your home. In this career, it’s also important to keep and maintain a healthily practiced and used sketchbook, what I mean by that is that it is important to regularly practice and sketch. The last thing I have to say about how you can prepare for an interior design career is to use programs such as planner 5D, Autodesk HomeStyler, and sweet home 3D.

Finally the last career that is going to be shared with you is photography. Many people don’t think that photography is not a form of art but indeed it is. A way you can begin to practice photography now is taking pictures of the things around you, such as nature and people. If you want to pursue photography it would be a good idea to buy a camera, it doesn’t have to be an expensive camera it can be a phone or even one of those disposable ones. Then when you are ready you can buy a more expensive camera.

Now for a small paragraph on the topic of art schools. The first school is PIM which is an art high school in eden Prairie, they offer dance theater and visual art programs they also offer post secondary. Another school I would like to recommend is Pratt Institute is very good and has plenty of programs to choose from graphic design to game design. The last school  that is a good example is, Ringling Art and Design School in Florida. They have to offer plenty of programs including advertising and illustration. Those are some options for art school that you can go to. Those were just a few examples of careers you can do with your art skills or your love for art, including different schools you can attend to expand your art knowledge.
