Poodles are an elegant breed, but they aren’t the prissy divas TVs set them up to be. They are an athletic, extremely smart and loyal breed that are one of the best.

There have been many debates on whether they were bred in France or Germany. We believe they were bred in Germany and brought over to France to where the poodle we know today was bred. There really isn’t any verified answer on who bred them. They come in 3 different sizes, Standard, Miniature and Toy. There isn’t a lot of difference between the 3, except for size.

We are going to be focusing on the Standard today. Males can weigh from anywhere between 60 and 70 pounds and females can weigh between 40 and 50 pounds. They have a life span from 10 to 12 years.

There are a lot of breed varieties and are a popular breed to mix with, such as the Goldendoodle (a Golden Retriever Poodle mix,) a Giant Schnoodle mix (a Giant Schnauzer Poodle mix,) and a Sheepadoodle (an old English Sheepdog Poodle mix).

Onto VMSS students dogs. The first photo you saw was Dash, a Toy Poodle onwned by Kareena Amnay. Next we have Sophia, a Bichon Frisé-Poodle mix, owned by Aislinn Anderson. Her favorite thing about her is that her fur is so soft. Next we have Maverick, a mini Goldendoodle, owned by Annika Bentley. Annika’s favorite thing about him is that he is so loving and caring. Last but certainly not least is Mickey, a Sheepadoodle, owned by Lillian Ketchum. Lillian’s favorite thing about him is that he could be the best dog in the world to the naughtiest, in about 2 minutes.
That’s all for the poodle. Bye!
