Mr. Welter enjoys serving as Advisor to The Eagle's Call and Swoop. He is currently in his 17th year of teaching and has worked with students in grades 6-12. In addition to eight years teaching Communications/ELA at Valley Middle, he has taught in Saint Paul, central Iowa and Tampico, Mexico.

Mr. Welter earned his BA in English Education from the University of Northern Iowa and his MFA in Writing from Hamline University.

Mr. Welter is into swimming, running, camping, curling, adventuring in the BWCA, writing fiction, and being a dad (kids' ages: 5, 7 & 10). He is an Iowa State Cyclone fan, sunburns easily, and is a terrible dancer. :)
