“SPEECHLESS” Artist Statement: I chose these colors because you couldn’t use green and I thought red lips with black stitches was inspiring. I enjoyed this art piece because I have always thought that girls are silenced at the wrong times. That is why I named my piece SPEECHLESS. Drawing the stitches was difficult for me because it is extremely difficult to angle the stitches just the right way. The pigmentations was the easiest part for me. If I were to give this artwork to someone special, it would be my little sister Olivia because she hates when people don’t get the chance to be heard.
