(part 1/2)

Fin’s POV

       Alright.. we set off, trudging past the giant squid, slaying it. It was bloody, horrific and we almost died trying… But, we’re both alive, so that’s great! We ran and ran then we- 

       My thoughts are once again interrupted by Rory snapping in my face. “S-so we g-going to actually g-go? I’ve be-been trying to get your a-attention for a-a while now..” Rory states. “Oh..” I laugh nervously. I didn’t realize I was that lost In thought. “Yeah.. yeah let’s go.”

            As we are walking in the dark, rocky, wet cave, I see a dim orange light, maybe it’s the way out of here? We walk closer to the orange light in the distance.As we get closer I realize it’s probably a camp or something. “I think there’s a camp over there” I said as I pointed toward the direction of the orange light. “I-Is it s-safe?” Rory whimpered. I could tell he was hesitant after what had just happened. After all, I did almost die.. “Possibly? I’m not quite sure yet, but the further away from the squid the better” I reassured him. “O-ok. I tr-trust you.” Rory whispered. He..trusted me? Does that mean we’re friends??? What’s going on? Why’s my face feeling hot? His eyes are so- I quickly snapped back to reality after Rory said that it’s definitely a campsite that’s ahead. I look at the campsite. It has a campfire, logs that looked like they were used as chairs, and a lot of things written on the stone walls. I then realized that the orange light was from the campfire. “Let’s stay here for a little bit.” I told Rory, smiling a bit idiotically. Oh my god stop being so dumb okay? Just talk to him like a normal person STOP BEING SO WEIRD! “O-okay.”

           We sit down on the logs and sit by the campfire. It feels warm. Like I was back at camp with my twin sister, laughing while eating marshmallows together. I miss Clementine.. I wonder if she misses me.. she probably took over our room and started having boys and friends over and whatever.. I mean I guess I wouldn’t be super mad if she brought some guys over.. “I w-wonder if t-the ma-markings  on the wall m-mean anything?” Rory asked. I jumped a little, not expecting him to say anything. Wow you need to stay in reality and get out of your head. TALK. TO. HIM. I looked up at the markings. Man what is up with you. It’s not that hard. “Maybe- I’m not 100% sure what they could mean” I said. “But, one of them looks familiar…” I said looking up at the marking of a purple rhombus with a top hat. Weird…these markings don’t look that accient though. But I’m interested in the 3y=3m one. Does it relate to the island or something? No.. that wouldn’t make much sense. But right now, I need to not just keep my mouth shut. Why can’t I just talk to him? It’s not that hard!!! 

       “Are.. are you o-okay? You look-look…” “Huh?” I said as I blinked back to reality 

“U-uh, y-you l-look like y-you’re th-thinking too much. A-Are you okay?” He said with a concerned voice. He sounds serious, but I just can’t stop thinking about him and what just happened! Oh! I have an idea, maybe I can just think of an excuse to say! I’m a genius! Why haven’t I thought of this before? Before I could think of something, words  just slipped out of my mouth. “U-uh I like your Face.” I said without thinking. Rory looked Confused in an adorable way. “U-uh..T-Thank y-you?” 

Rory’s POV 

       I watched him realize what he just said and looked away quickly. He looked panicked. I hope he’s okay, I should ask . “U-um, F-Fin?” I asked him. He doesn’t answer, he only makes this bland face while blushing of embarrassment. The face he’s making is funny, and actually kinda cute- wait, WHAT AM I THINKING?! “…uhm anyways the weather In the cave is nice ”I heard Fin say awkwardly. “u-u-umm yea…” I replied. We just sat near the campfire in uncomfortable silence. Hmmm I wonder where the others are.
