VMSS students, staff give thanks this week
November 20, 2017
The Eagle’s Call asked some VMSS students and staff what they are thankful for this Thanksgiving season. Here is what they said:
Dylan Omweno, 7th grader, is thankful for family and friends.
Mrs. Carlson, 6th & 7th-grade teacher, is thankful for family and for having a job.
Kamelle Lett, 7th grader, is thankful for family and a roof over her head.
Krystani Block, 6th grader, is thankful for family and clothing.
Ethan Roers, 7th grader, is thankful for food and a roof over his head.
Jaylin Raab, 7th grader, is thankful for family, God, good grades and visiting his cousin, Tyus Jones.
Abigail Noll, 6th grader, is thankful for friends, family and opportunities.
Amy Tong, 7th grader, is thankful for friends and family.
Mrs. Hill, who works with 6th & 7th graders, is thankful for her family and everybody being together.

I am thankful my students who can rap the Fresh Prince of Bel Air with me:-) I am thankful for my colleagues, I am thankful for a healthy body to go running. I am thankful for Mr. Vaillancourt, my beautifully adventurous kiddos, my family and my friends who are like family.

Estoy agradecido por aprender ingles, y por estar en una escuela nueva y es muy dificil hablar ingles.
I’m thankful for learning English, and for being in a new school and it is very difficult to speak English.

I’m thankful for my family including three wonderful grandchildren! On Thanksgiving we’ll all be around the table, ranging from 95 years old to 2 weeks!

I am thankful for the fact that I have a great job working with kids that I care about (even through tough love sometimes), I have my health and my brain functions well enough, I have a family that shows me how to be a better person daily, and that I work at a school that mirrors my values and beliefs in the possibilities of the future.

I am so thankful for good health and jobs! Last year at this time our family faced job loss and cancer, but this year everyone is employed and in remission!
