Alimagnet Nature Park is an overall awesome place to visit. If you just want to go out in nature, relax, look at some plants or animals, or just to go on a walk. I personally love nature, so I go as much as I can. I live very close, and every time I go, it is still very interesting and fun.

Location

One of Alimagnet’s entrances is located on Gardenview Drive. It is across the street from 141st Court West. There are more entrances, like one on Ridgeview Drive, and there is another one on Alimagnet Parkway. The last one that I will mention is the one on Rimrock Drive.

Environment

The environment in Alimagnet Nature Park is very peaceful. There are a lot of animals, and beautiful plants. There is almost no trash laying around, because people pick it up! The trails are gravel, and there are not many steep uphills, or downhills, it is mostly flat ground. There are a few hills, though. There are a lot of trees, so on a sunny day there is a lot of shade. There is one big lake in the middle of all of the trails. Also, there is a dog park which my dog likes to go to.

Animals

There are a variety of animals in Alimagnet. Some big, and some small. Some of the small animals you may find include rabbits, squirrels, and chipmunks, frogs, toads, and turtles. The only big animals that I have seen are deer. Other animals include birds and bugs.  The birds I have seen are eagles, woodpeckers, cardinals, blue jays, crows, and very rarely owls. Bugs include spiders, ants, flys, and mosquitoes. Of course, there are a lot more animals, but those are most of the ones that I see.

What to bring

On this walk you probably want to bring supplies. You probably want to bring your dog if you have one, because I bring mine every time we go and he has the best time. Items to put in your backpack are band aids, bug spray, an umbrella, and a water bottle. Less practical things include books about animals and plants, a net and a container for catching frogs or bugs.

When to go

Alimagnet is a nature trail that is awesome at some times in the day, and not so awesome at others. The best season to go really depends on why you want to go. If you are going there to see the animals or plants, you want to go in the spring or summer. If you want to see astounding nature sights, go in the fall or just after it snows in winter. The best time to go is early in the morning, around 8:00, because then it will be bright, and it will have almost no mosquitoes. You will also get to see the most animals at that time. I would recommend not going after 8:00, because it will be dark and you will get a thousand mosquito bites.

I would give Alimagnet nature park a 4.5 out of 5 stars. I say that because I love the variety of plants and animals, and also there are a lot of trails to explore. I also think that the trails are very clean which makes it one of my favorites. If you are looking for somewhere to go on a walk, or go hiking, I would highly recommend Alimagnet Nature Park!
